PUBLIFOR - SCHROUD PATH TURIN - ITALY

From April 19th – June 24th 2015 it was possible to see the Holy Shroud, the linen that shows the signs of the Passion of Christ. It bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions of people believe to be Jesus of Nazareth.

It was a long awaited event for catholics all over the world as it was a rare exhibition (it has been desplayed only a few times in the past) that would surely attract believers and curious onlookers to the Cathedral. Considering the large number of visitors who would visit this sensible site, it was necessary to adopt some security measures. As the place could be a potential target for acts of religious terrorism, the route that pilmgrims would cover to reach the Cathedral had to be secured to safeguard people and the priceless relic.

The path to reach the Shroud (850 mt long), the reception and access point in Viale dei Partigiani, were secured by the installation of Publifor®, panels, the most used temporary fencing system in Italy, specifically designed for guiding people in crowed places like events and exhibitions where the highest level of security is essential. For this occasion the upper part of the Publifor panels had been customized with the use of screening sheets to reduce visibility. 20 - 21 June visit of the Pope to the Shroud Exposition.
