Athletes embarked on a 1.2-mile swim near the downtown beach area in the temperate Adriatic Sea.
The 56-mile bike course runs through the foothills of the Abruzzo Mountains and provides a challenging, yet scenic ride through vineyards and groves of olive trees. The 13.1-mile run courses took athletes along the beach promenade, through downtown Pescara and to the finish in the heart of the city. There were 50 qualifying slots available for the 2015 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
Tempofor has been used to fence the starting area and the first part of the ciruit.
