Dubai, 15 June 2011: Betafence has again proved its position as world leader in fencing solutions when it was awarded the fence and access control supply contract to India’s first Formula 1 GP race set for October 30 at the newly named Buddh International Race Circuit.

The track, with a total seating capacity for 100 000 to 120 000 spectators, is currently being built approximately 50 km outside New Delhi in Greater Noida and is named after the Gautam Buddh Nagar district where it is based. The 5.14km track was designed by German race track designer, Hermann Tilke.

Betafence will be supplying the following fences and gates to the Buddh International Circuit:
 - 9 km of Nylofor 3D Super fences, including 37 swing gates for the spectator areas betafence-india-buddh-circuit-2011_0.jpg
 - 9 km of fixed and mobile FIA cable crash security fence on the main track
 - Racetrack protection fence and pit wall gates
 - 2 km of Tempofor F2 Standard fence and 17 gates for the paddock area

“Since the announcement of India’s addition to the 2011 racing calendar, Betafence Middle East Branch, based in Dubai, through Aamir Siddiqui Regional sales manager has been working diligently on this project. Our fencing systems fully comply with FIA’s strict standards, and our experience in similar projects like Motorland Aragon in Spain, F1 Circuit Abu Dhabi and F1 Circuit SITRA in Bahrain helped us secure this contract.” says Christophe Michee, Betafence sales director, Middle East.

The event organizers’ objectives were optimum spectator visibility and an aesthetically pleasing design while still providing the highest standard of protection and safety. Betafence’s engineering team, in consultation with the client, Jaypee Sports International, developed a system to specifically address all these requirements, including ease of installation and maintenance.

“Our plants are running to a strict manufacturing schedule to ensure we deliver the final product in time for completion. The world’s eyes are on India to deliver a successful F1 Race, and Betafence is helping to achieve that.” ends Michee.
