HORIZEN PANEL - POLAND - GILOWICE

Horizen panels in an unexpected version

The owners of a private house in Gilowice, near Pszczyna, decided to fence their dream house in an unusual and distinctive way. They decided to emphasize the classic architecture of the house with delicate Horizen panels with a horizontal rung layout. Yet, to preserve the character of the entire property, they decided to install it on concrete pillars and underpinning. The modernist character of the panels, combined with the pillars and the foundation, beautifully highlights the house without overwhelming it. The owners of the property also wanted to achieve a fairly high degree of privacy, without separating themselves and creating a sense of being closed inside. Horizen panels, thanks to the small spacing between the spans, made it possible to create an intimate atmosphere inside the property. Concrete posts and a foundation have also helped to build a sense of privacy, thanks to which some parts of the property are hidden from the eyes of passers-by. For the owners, the level of security that Horizen panels provide was also an important aspect. The already mentioned, small gaps between the spans of the panels make it impossible to climb the fence, providing security and peace to the household members. The fence was also equipped with a single swing gate and a sliding gate Horizen.

Why the homeowners chose the sliding gate? They value convenience, and they knew they would use it very often, which is why the sliding gate was the best solution for them. The great advantage of the Horizen sliding gate is reliability and a guarantee of long-term use. Both of this is achieved by using galvanizing and coating technologies as well as used rollers resistant to use and corrosion. Thanks to the use of elements of the Horizen system, the whole fence creates a harmonious protection of the property. Why sometimes the baseplates are a good idea? Depending on the needs and the ground, the foundation can be a decorative feature or can be used as an additional stiffening for the fence. When making a decision about building a foundation, you should first consider whether it is necessary for you or not. Underpinning may be necessary when: • Your plot is located at a different height than the neighbouring plot - a suitable underpinning will prevent the material from spilling

  • Your fence should be additionally stiffened, for example when it is placed on a heterogeneous substrate • You have a dog or plans to have one - some dogs like to dig under the fence, others (eg neighbouring ones) can get to your property this way
  • You breed other animals and they may be vulnerable to attack by foxes and other animals, that does not overcome the fencing with the mountain, but just below

The foundation can be made in two ways: by a concrete screed or a prefabricated foundation. A concrete foundation is poured in a time-consuming and labour-intensive process. However, it is ideally suited to inhomogeneous substrates where high stability and solidity are required from the fence. The prefabricated foundation is, in turn, a simpler solution, and its assembly is not as complicated as in the case of a concrete foundation. However, it should be remembered that such a foundation does not stiffen the fence, and it performs above all a decorative function.
