SECURIFOR - BRUSSEL - BELGIUM

If you drive on the Saint-Lazarelaan in Brussels it is impossible to miss the property at number 10.

The building is called the 'Botanic Building' and is a strong example of contemporary architecture, thanks to the Securifor panels. The alternating straight and curved lines, the play between glass and metal, the landscaping on different levels: each element shows a feel for aesthetically responsible function and ...image. Aluminium, glass and concrete take a prominent place within the architectural concept of the Botanic Building.

The architects also provided a multifunctional metal fence that fi ts beautifully with the rest of the design. The first aim of the fence is to allow ivy to grow on it as a green extension to the neighbouring botanical gardens. The designers created a type of green terrace with Securifor. In that way it was possible to use plants and bushes from the very beginning at different heights. The established reputation of Betafence regarding quality and durability certainly played a part in choosing Securifor. The small mesh sizes (76.2 x 12.7 mm) were a particular asset, from an aesthetic angle and as a grip for the ivy.

The result? The fence provides a sober and stylish touch and gives the building a special personality. And so a little more green has been added to the Belgian capital.
